The New York Rangers Sled Hockey Team

... is a competitive-level group sponsored by the Wheelchair Sports Federation (a 501c3 not for profit organization), and is composed of adults with varying abilities. Our team unites people with spinal cord injuries, amputations, spina bifida, and other physical disabilities, as well as able-bodied individuals, to play an adapted version of ice hockey. Our players come from NYC, Westchester and Rockland Counties, New Jersey, and Long Island, and play in the highly competitive Northeast Sled Hockey League.

The hits are just as hard and the competition just as biting as standup hockey. The only difference is that the athletes sit in customized buckets, and use two specialized sticks. With your help, the organization can do more outreach, afford out-of-reach costs, and become stronger athletes.
